Blood.
Violence. Shedding. Warfare. Typically ‘art’ isn’t a word associated with blood. This release sought to rectify that. Well… not intentionally. Written for a hypothetical ensemble of clarinet, flute, viola, electric guitars, bass guitar, and drums, Blood Art forgoes human voice to let music itself speak of the contrasts of beauty and pain. Is it successful? Is any of this successful? Is there ‘success’ in what we do? The album exists, either way.
